Hello, and thank you for joining me in my review of the Breville Sous Chef 12 Cup Food Processor. A study of the Cuisinart 14-cup food processor showed it was put up against the Breville Sous Chef food processor by a few others. I found the accolades the Sous Chef received interesting, so I had to check it out for myself.

The sleek design of the machine alone will complement any kitchen counter. The device has only three buttons: power, start/pulse, and pulse.

Some were concerned with the limited selection of buttons but quickly discovered that the operating options were more than sufficient. A great feature added is that the buttons will only illuminate if the bowl and lid are correctly locked in position and the large feed pusher is inserted.

 

Three chute options come with the Sous Chef. You have a 5-inch feed for your larger whole produce, a 2.75-inch feed for mid-size produce, and a 1.5-inch feed for smaller produce like carrots or celery.

Your slicing disc has 24 settings to choose from. Your slicing options range from paper-thin slices to thick cuts. The shredding disk reverses for both fine and coarse shredding. You also have a micro-serrated S-blade for chopping and pureeing.

The Breville Sous Chef food processor consistently performed well through several tests of chopping, slicing, shredding, and pureeing. With ease of use and cleaning, this food processor is a great kitchen companion.
