HexClad 13 Piece Hybrid Stainless Steel Cookware Set Review

Hexclad Hybrid Stainless Steel cookware

Hello, and thank you for checking out my HexClad 13 Piece Hybrid Stainless Steel cookware review.

Let's start with understanding what HexClad is. Recommended by professional chefs, HexClad is hybrid cookware. It has all of the searing qualities of a stainless steel pan while maintaining the ease of cooking on a nonstick pan. Gordon Ramsey is known for calling the HexClad cookware "The Rolls-Royce of pans." It's an incredible endorsement if you ask me. So, let's find out if this cookware lives up to their claim.

HexClad achieves the sear of stainless steel combined with the ease of nonstick with laser-etched stainless steel hexagon ridges that form peaks over a nonstick valley. With a magnetic steel base, the cookware quickly conducts heat, making it suitable for induction cooktops. The cookware is oven-safe and dishwasher-safe, but handwashing is highly recommended to keep the cookware sturdy and great-looking.

In testing, HexClad cookware has proven to stand up to high-heat cooking. One test conducted was browning chicken thighs. Stainless steel is excellent at getting the temperature high enough to brown the chicken beautifully, but with stainless steel, the chicken will sometimes stick. As with nonstick, you won't have that problem. The problem with nonstick is that they must be more suitable for high-heat cooking.

The handle is ergonomic and stay-cool quality. The cookware is heavy for some users but is balanced, creating even heat distribution. And the cleaning is a breeze.

Who Is the HexClad 13 Piece Hybrid Stainless Steel Cookware Best For?

If you can keep to the process of medium to low-heat cooking. You are making sure to season the pan before using it and preferably handwash the cookware instead of placing it in the dishwasher. There is more maintenance with this cookware, and if you don't mind a few extra steps, you will do well with HexClad Hybrid Stainless Steel cookware.

Final Verdict

So, this cookware is pricey.

It is an investment in your kitchen and cooking. There is more involved with owning this cookware than full stainless steel or nonstick cookware. Go for it if you're willing to do the extra work and mostly cook with nonstick cookware.
